Water Lily Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Our mission is to help people who are on a fixed income, including the elderly and disabled veterans, pay their veterinarian bills. Our goal is to keep health pets with the people who love them.

The kinds of volunteer and intern work we have involves recruiting veterinarians to participate in our programs, raising donations so we can continue  helping pets and people, and journalism and marketing, to get the word out about healthy pets and about the work we do.

 

Marketing Intern/Volunteer

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with marketing and promoting Water Lily Foundation and the VMA program to veterinarians

  • May also assist with obtaining donations to the program

  • May also assist with development and distribution of promotional materials including direct mail pieces, print and electronic newsletters, web site and social media stories, medial releases, and other materials as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Outgoing, with excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong creativity

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Professional dress and attitude

Communications Intern/Volunteer

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, research and write stories for Facebook and Twitter, and for WLF’s website and newsletter

  • Draft, distribute and pitch PSAs, news releases, media alerts and other stories

  • Design flyers, e-vites and other marketing material for major fundraising events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Strong creativity

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Professional dress and attitude

  • Love for pets is a plus

  • Journalism or ethnography experience or training a plus

  • Must have reliable transportation

Fundraising Intern/Volunteer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist at fundraising events for Water Lily Foundation

  • Assist with creative development of fundraising events and campaigns

  • Assist with development and distribution of promotional materials including direct mail pieces, print and electronic newsletters, web site and social media stories, medial releases, and other materials as needed

  • May also assist with obtaining donations to the VMA and Save the Angels programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong creativity

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Professional dress and attitude

  • Love for pets is a plus

  • Must have reliable transportation
